Factory Radio Unlock Question
Once a factory touchscreen radio is unlocked with the unlock code, is it permanently unlocked or must that code be used each time the radio is removed or transferred to another vehicle?

That code needs to be entered each time it is associated with a new VIN.

As far as I know, yes. If a future owner needs the code, they'll need the VIN from the first vehicle it was in.

Is this something new? On my first jeep in 08 I just had basic radio so I bought an upgraded one with Nav from a member I did have to install a mic for connect and maybe a sirius antenna but the rest was just plug and play I did not have to get dealership to do anything. Later I added Lockpick and installed back up camera no problem. What are you needing a code for?
