Default Fuse Box Layout Map - JK 2009 2-door

Since the fuse layout map on the inside cover of the fuse box is tough to read for those of us with older eyes, and since there have been several threads requesting such a diagram, I thought I'd go ahead and post this for whoever finds it useful.

If anyone sees any mistakes, let me know immediately and I'll fix it. Note that this is from my 2-door JK 2009... I don't know if there are any differences between the 2-door and the 4-door, nor if there were any changes between 2007 or 2008.

One question I have about the above:

The driver's side power outlet #1 is M6.

The passenger side power outlet #2 is M7.

The legend shows M36 as Power Outlet #3... where exactly in the Jeep is this power outlet?

Also, it mentions a "rain sensor" on M6 as well... what's this all about?

Nice job. Thanks. Did the JK ever have heated seats? I used M8 for my aux hook up. Mike

Thanks. Mine never had heated seats... no power windows, no power mirrors, no power door locks.

I think they probably use that fuse box in many Jeep and/or Chrysler vehicles and just connect the options as the vehicle model dictates.

Thanks for the help. This makes it a lot easier to read. It's a sad day when you realize the world is writing everything smaller. Instruction manuals, pill bottles, the font on your monitor...

So if there is a place for a fuse and it's not a option you have, are the wires still run for that option?
Example: I don't' have power seats but buy them from a junk yard. Can I just plug them in to a existing wire and plug in a fuse, and now have working power seats?

Thanks Robert For all your work on making this list!

That's a good question, because I've seen MOPAR instructions for the OEM heated seat components that have you wiring them into the power outlet on the driver's side... (i.e., nothing to do with M8 or M9)... which makes me think that sometimes the circuitry is not there if the vehicle didn't have the option coming out of the factory.

http://www.quadratec.com/Assets/Installation/100094.pdf

And yet, there are several write-ups on this board that have people using M8 and M9 as supply power sources for other projects (e.g., auxiliary lighting), so those slots in the fuse box are indeed "live" and ready for use.

Other things, like the OEM fog lights I installed after I bought the Jeep, did have all the internal circuitry wiring already installed, once you hooked the actual light wires up to the harness underneath the fuse box and changed the switch at the steering column... but in order for the lights to actually work, the dealer had to "flash the computer".

Default I hadn't noticed the fuse puller...

...the first few times I went in there, so I mention it is under J11 in the diagram above. Hopefully, I'm the only bonehead who had trouble finding it.
