Yes, that's an excellent example.

I searched the Internet, and didn't find gimbals for cars or motorcycles,
which simultaneously meet these criteria --
# 12V power supply from the vehicle
# ProGo mount which keeps all the sockets and controls accessible
...(e.g. for connecting an external microphone)
# ProGo mount which allows attaching a 52mm filter adapter
# Easy switching between 2 or 3 plane stabilizing
# Compact design and no exposed wires
# Brushless motors
Everything seems to be made for R/C helicopters or hand-held, and is battery-dependent.

Here's another video, from Baja 1000, which can't be enjoyed because the trails is constantly jumping.
The lack of stabilizing is tolerable at slow speed, and becomes more annoying as speed goes up, as you can see here:

I looked on their site and it does run on 12v battery power so probably could be converted to run off the Jeep. I don't know if it meets all your other criteria though.

Serious question: Do all of you really consider this a better viewing experience? POV would have the viewer bouncing around. LOL: If you don't enjoy that, maybe you should stick to paved roads and malls.
I don't care for it but everybody has different tastes. Looks like the camera is rolling around on a swivel.

Here's a build your own gimbal for $5.

http://youtu.be/-CxFf_WW4rQ Would be a good way to test if just a gimbal would work without a gyro.

This pendulum-based stabilizer won’t work well on a Jeep, because each braking will make the weight swing forward and the camera will point upwards. Vice versa when accelerating.
The weight will also not keep upright during turns, it will swing sideways.
It doesn't stabilize the up-down movements at all, so the horizon will jump up & down on the screen.

In any case, pendulum-based stabilizers work smoothly only when movement is real slow and the hinges are practically frictionless.

Feiyu G3 Handheld Stabilizer for GoPro HERO 3 and 4 (3-Axis) - HeliPal
Thanks!
That's a popular model, which I checked, but it meets only part of the criteria on the list.

Gotcha. You seem to know quite a bit about this subject. Are you a fighter pilot?

One of the difficult things about filming Jeeping is you really need a perspective tha gives you the view ahead but also a third person view of the Jeep to give the viewer a better idea of what is going on. This mount would limit your video to kind of a poor angle. I use a magnetic mount for a lot of my first person view stuff. Quick and mounts anywhere. I also use a roll bar mount with an extension a lot to get the view farther out but aimed back in a bit.

This site has some cool GoPro stuff. http://theaccessorypro.com

I've been accused of going overboard with mounts. I made a boom out of a caster wheel mount, a bunch of fender washers and a 10' stick of conduit. It looked ridiculous but the shot was very cool. This was the teaser I did to show it off. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=t1JNSGNxz7U Here is the longer version. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Em32-Wz1CU0

Ah... remove 'fighter pilot' and add a list of other things...
