Glad to hear! It is loud, I find I hardly have it passed 9. At 10 its too loud, even at highway speeds with my loud ass afe exhaust.

The pioneer avh series stereos are good quality! And priced nice too!

I'm guessing 30 is the max. Never tried it.

15 is about 1/2 way and the highest volume I could handle with Surefire earplugs in.

Pics?!?!?!

They should go up to 40. 35-38 is where they start to clip.

Here's what I've got; 2012 2 door JK, manual trans with Infinity sound system. Stock head unit is, bleh. Pretty sad for the "upgraded" factory system. Ordered a new Pioneer AVHX1600DVD head unit. I don't use Bluetooth, just bought it for better sound. PAC RP4-CH11 wiring harness for Jeep. Hear this lets me keep the steering wheel controls and works with Chryslers weird CAN BUS system. Metra antenna adaptor. Whatever it is, Crutchfield said I needed it. Chrysler/Jeep dash fit kit. Plastic surround thingamajig. Do I need a 3 wire brake bypass switch? it's only $15 but some say you do some say you don't? I'm not sure. Just looking for some advice, encouragement or even discouragement before I start tearing my dash apart and cutting wires next week. Share your experience with me. Still have 3-4 days for the rest of the parts to come in. thanks gang!

Did you need the "Plastic surround thingamajig"?

I am looking at doing the 2700bs and it seems like I can go onto Amazon and get unit, cables, dash kit, steering wheel kit, mounting bracket, satellite tuner, etc. for a lot less money. That said I have not seen a bezel/trim ring offered

The mounting bracket should be the plastic bezel thing that fills the gap. It screws to the stereo, then the bezel screws to the dash. The plastic surround is the mounting bracket.
That's how it was when I got mine from Crutchfield. I forget the maker of the plastic surround bezel thing.

But yes, you do need it.

Yes, I did need it. Not a perfect fit though. Gaps on the sides are uneven. The recess behind the mounting screws warps the fill plate if you tighten it too much.
I'll adjust and shim it with some sheet metal to even out the gaps on the side when I get the nav black box and brake bypass switch in.

Mine doesn't have bad gaps. Everything is lined up and even.
You can change the color of the side buttons to almost any color /hue combination. I made mine to match the light green interior dash color.
