JK Sub working?
I just picked up a sub woofer for my 2007 JKY which never had one from the factory. I found the factory plug under the carpet and it plugged right in, but it doesn't seem to be doing anything. Is the sub bad or does it need to be activated by the dealer?

It means if your Jeep didn't come from the factory with a subwoofer, it does not have the necessary wiring or amplifier for you to plug it in and expect it to work. You can add a subwoofer, but you will have to add an amplifier and tap into the factory wiring to power it.
If you still don't understand, spend some time reading through the hundreds on posts on adding an amplifier or go to your local shop and have them help you out.

I just saw your email and I have no idea- I don't have the wiring, never had that option in my jeep.
The amp 'should' be behind the panel underneath your steering wheel. I don't know the orientation of it because I don't have one. It is odd that the wiring is there without an amp but they did odd things in the early years. *If* there isn't an amp, it sounds like you've at least got the wiring from the back of the vehicle to the front already which would be a bonus for hooking it up.

There is no wiring for the amp if it didn't come from the factory with one. Bad news is you cannot buy the amp wiring harness, it's not available. You have to go aftermarket, you cannot retrofit the "premium sound"
