im pretty sure i remember reading somewhere that the jk has square openings or something. So im guessing in the above picture, they just drilled a circular hole in the armor where the square is to accommodate a round light

Put LED bulbs in mine. 21 LEDs and still not as brite as stock and less power less resistance so turn signal click goes double time

What´s this .... where did you find these LED bulbs and do they fit into original mount or did you have to modify ? Any pics ?

I got LED bulbs at Auto Zone. Probably the same ones as no9, not quite as bright as stock and the light is not dispursed as well. Also the fast blink problem. They plug into the stock recepticle.

I want a new housing that looks like the original one in shape and size, but utilizes LED's.

I would love LED tail lights on my JK. I found some OEMs for earlier years but not my JK. Here is what my Dad put on his new truck camper. I dont think these are the same model but they are brighter then H3LL. When you signal or break I'm pretty sure the person behind us looks like this ........

I know there is a company that makes flat LED panels to go inside the tail light lens but I wasn't able to find them ......

Like bmcollier said yes they fit in stock locations no problem. I got mine athttp://www.superbrightleds.com/led_prods.htm
they have alot of different sizes and styles and you can find a chart that tells you which bulbs you need. I think you can buy resistors also but I didn't get those yet. Hint though get the most Leds per bulb expecially for the reverse lights
