light recommendations

Just to add to this thread ....
I, too, thought the factory headlights were awful in my 2014 JKU. I mean, these had some of the lowest light output of any vehicle I've owned in the last 15 or 20 years -- and for a Jeep which you know is gonna be used in off-road situations, bad weather, etc.? Pretty unacceptable.
I guess they're *finally* starting to sell factory LED headlamps in the current models, so maybe retrofitting a pair of those would be a good option. But I purchased a pair of Truck Lites for mine off an eBay vendor for around $350. You need the harness anti-flicker adapters too, but they have these for under $20 or so a pair on eBay or Amazon.
My experience with the Truck Lites is you get FAR brighter, whiter light and I can definitely see what's in front AND just off to the side of the road ahead of me FAR better than with the factory headlights. On the negative side? There's kind of a strange light pattern they cast on the road in front of you. It creates sort of a triangular shadow in the area that's lit up, which is more or less noticeable depending on the conditions (road surface, weather/fog, how dark it is out and whether or not other vehicles are around you with their own lights on). It's nothing that really bothers me much, but was mildly distracting/annoying when I first saw it and was paying a lot of attention to exactly how the new headlights projected.
I've also noticed that I still see a slight flickering of the headlights, most noticeable if I'm idling, in front of traffic at a stop light. This *may* be due to my use of the cheap generic anti-flicker harnesses. Not really sure? But again, it's slight and doesn't particularly bother me. (Sort of reminds me of what my traditional headlights would do sometimes on my 1970's cars, before the era of fuel injection, when they'd idle a bit rough.)
I've heard a few people say the JW Speakers are superior with their beam pattern, vs. Truck Lites. May be so, but they also seem to cost $75+ more?
