Mount winch solenoid on 2012 3.6L under hood
I cannot find any information on where to put the winch solenoid box under the hood of my 2012. I have found a few write ups for the 3.8L where they put it in between the fuses and the battery....but that spot is not available on 2012. If anyone has any suggestions it would be greatly appreciated. My WARN doesn't have a sealed solenoid box and i'm not going to use my winch often, so i decided that under the hood would be the best location.
Thank you all in advance for any help!

This is where I mounted mine. I had to fabricate brackets for it to fit properly and I plan on relocating the winch remote connection to my glove box eventually so I don't have to lift my hood every time I need to winch myself or a buddy out.

Thanks for the reply and pictures! Even the same color jeep as mine, I really like the black grill too!
X2 on the bracket. That's the exact location I've been trying to squeeze it but couldnt find a nice way to mount it. It does seem like my Warn box is a little bigger than the Engo though.

Perfect timing! Just got my LoD signature series on yesterday with the Engo 10000 synthetic. The solenoid doesn't really fit on top so I figured I'd need to do the same.
On the Engo, how did you handle changing out the wiring?
Also, would love any additional pictures on wire routing/bracket!

I've been thinking of doing this on my Runva winch as its not water submersible.
Where did you get the wires from and did you find matching colors or just go all red and black? My Runva has about 5 wires I think.

Autozone sells 4 gauge battery cables (black) that I used to extend the solenoid box wires with. The red wire I got from a car audio place and just crimped battery terminals to it. Once you open up the box it is really straight forward how to replace the cables with longer ones. I suggest you do one at a time so u don't mix up which wires connect to what. Also make sure u dont forget the smaller 16 gauge wire. You need to extend that too.
as far as the brackets are concerned I cannot get a good shot of how I mounted them to the jeep. They are just a piece of flat steel with holes drilled in it. Only the left bracket in the pic is actually bolted to the jeep. The right bracket is just there for rotational support and it just sits on a flat surface. I used a bolt that was already on the jeep. I had to trim that rubber washer though to get the bracket to sit flat. Then reinstalled the rubber washer and then the bolt. I hope this helps.
Btw: I love the Engo winch. Have not used it to pull myself out yet but it's a great deal.

Thanks! Going to have to do this sometime this week. currently have it mounted to the winch and am headed out to Rausch Creek this Saturday, need to protect those precious solenoids!
Another idea for others. I bought 1/0 Welding cable from a local welding supply store. The welding cable is really flexible and has a decent amount more shielding. It was about $2.48/foot if I remember correctly.
