I've always had good luck with Sears Die Hard batteries ... however, I've heard nothing but good things about Optima Yellow and/or Red top.
What I'm curious about is the new, Lithium-type batteries. I saw a brief description in a recent Jp magazine, but loaned out the magazine to a buddy so I don't have the mag/article for reference. Supposedly they are significantly smaller/lighter and one might be able to put 2 batteries in the space of a traditional battery in the JK's? I'm considering going to a 2 battery system with the installation of a winch and cost/space/weight is always a consideration.

I installed the yellow top Optima in my 2008 JKUR two years ago and haven't had any issues. I run lights, winch, a power converter that could run a small city and other accessories. They are a bit expensive, but comparable to most good batteries.

never had a platinum but every experience I've ever had with die hard was that they do exactly that..die hard (and fast). Had one internally short and fry a bunch of stuff in my car, had another die 3 months after I got it...Just died(different cars)...they replaced them both under warranty, didn't fix the stuff it fried in my car and I don't think either lasted longer than 2 years after that. both were gold's I think
