Hey guys,

Long time Jeep owner, have owned a total of 7. I currently still own #4(Jeep SRT8) and my 7th is my 2013 Jeep Wrangler Sahara Unlimited.

I am a member of some other forums for my other cars and looking forward to the same experience on here!

I did have a question for you guys, my Jeep had aftermarket LED headlights installed, my Wrangler is a 6spd. When starting the car, and the light switch is off, the lights remain off. As soon as I release the e-brake, the headlights turn on, and they will turn on and off with the engaging and releasing of the e-brake. It this normal for the manual wranglers? Anyone run into issues with this? I just took it in to ensure they were connected properly and looks like they are.

No. thats weird. Ive never had nor seen that issue before.

My headlights, which are programmed as daytime running lights, turn off when I apply the parking brake, and come back on when I release the parking brake.

That's what DRL's do so as soon as you release the brakes the headlights come one. Not all places require them but Canada does, not sure where you live but I think some places in the U.S. require them. Maybe your Jeep is imported from Canada? Maybe those lights have a DRL function that are just hooked up directly with the low beam power.

You can change this with a programmer. I set mine for the brights to be the drl's. I believe you can turn it off also.

That's exactly what these are doing, so it is the programming.

This Jeep was imported from Canada and updated for US. These are just plug n play lights with an adapter, so only really one way to hook them up. All the LEDs on the lights seem to come on, just not as bright as the brights. I found a loose wire, re-connected everything, used Zip tie to hold connector in place with electrical tape as well, so they aren't going anywhere. Anyway to change this programming within the Jeeps control unit?

what programmer are you referring to?

On my '17 i can change the DRL settings using the dash screen and steering wheel controls.....keep hitting menu until "user settings" shows up.
