New Odyssey PC 2250 upgrade
After installing my 320amp alternator which was a well needed boost for my warn 8274, the obvious weak link presented itself one day while winching. Running dual batteries means double the connections available to fail at any moment. My winch found the loose connection and it almost turned into a very bad day. So after reviewing numerous post about the best battery and so forth, I came up with a new plan. I modified the Rugged Ridge dual battery tray by removing the center brace and attaching a new brace to the underside of the pan which allowed for the 1 larger Odyssey PC 2250 AGM battery to fit. It weighs 86lbs vs the 2 other batteries that weighed 88lbs. Im putting a isolator going to the rear Odyssey PC925 which is under the back seat in case something goes haywire at least ill have a backup. Also added numerous 1 1/2 ground straps to the tub, frame, and engine. All turned out well so far. The battery cost 470.00 shipped to my door using Autoplicity.com website. Cost a little more than 2 optima yellow tops but allot less headache. And its a dual purpose battery with 2250 cranking amps which is way more than what I had. The battery terminals Im using are SKY High Audio 2/0 blocks, I run 2/0 everywhere in this rig and they give me multiple outlets and use set screws to tighten down the cables.

Odyssey Setup
Awesome setup! I have the same need. Run a winch with a lot of accessories. I plan to run an Odyssey battery in the rear of the jeep to run a fridge and sine dc/ac converter. Are you still happy with the setup? What did you use to connect the batteries together? Did you run the cable through the firewall? I have an ARB dual air compressor under the seat and ran that cable through the firewall so would have to connect it to the rear battery.
Any insight you could provide, parts you used, and installation tips would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
