Default Optima Red Top Battery

Looking to buy an Optima red top. The Jeep calls for a 48 so will the 34R work?

On a yellow top for my 2012 it was a Group 34 model D34.

You will have to stretch the positive wire to reach the post, unclip it from the firewall.

On my factory battery the terminal is on the right, next to the firewall. I'm hearing now, not to get the Optima because they are made in Mexico. To get the Diehard instead.

The AGM battery from Sears Diehard was rated the best in a consumer reports testing. If you believe their testing procedures and results.

Default battery

Installed a yellow top in March of 2009 in to my 2009 Tahoe... because the OEM battery (2 of them actually) couldn't power the radio while I washed/dried the truck, then start it to move it into the garage.

Not only was the yellow top able to power my head-unit long enough to wash/dry/vacuum the truck... 90,000 miles and 5 years later... it's STILL powering the truck.

Mean time, my wife's car has gone through THREE 'normal' batteries from Advance Auto.

total cost was about the same, but I've never been left w/a dead battery. She has.

Optimas are old news but they look really pretty. Platinum Diehard (gel) is not only better, but are cheaper with a much better warranty.

I agree the Northstar AGM 34 is a great battery, however the Diehard Platinum P4 34/78 has about the same specs at about $80.00 less.
