Optima Yellow Top size 34
Im getting ready to install a winch on my 12 JKUR. I have a size 34 yellow top optima battery from an older vehicle Iaying around that Id like to use. I tried to install it and it fits fine but the stock cables are about 3 inches too short due the terminals being on the other side of the battery. Has anyone been able to get a group 34 battery to work in a 12,13,14 JK? Thanks

I guess I should ask if theres any slack or clips on the stock cables that can be let out to give me and extra couple inches to be able to reach the optimas terminals.

Found the answer!!!! Here is a link for all interested. It can be done with the cutting of a few clips.

Gonna say...I have a group 24 Stinger 1800 in the engine compartment and it fit. Bolted down fine. The cables barely reach, but did. Like above, just need to clip a couple plastic wiring harness retainers.
FWIW, you can get a decent sized AGM battery under each front seat. I have a pair of Stingers under the front seats and since they are AGM style they are non spill-able and the seat brackets hold them firmly in place. The battery isolator and fusing is under the hood on the firewall next to factory location.
