Just keep in mind that this units maps only works if you have cell service. If you get out on the trails off-road and don't have cell service, the navigation is useless. The 5000 has the built in navigating, I think.

Alright guys, I see that many of you are wondering what parts you need to make this work. Luckily I have done the research! From what I can tell, Crutchfield has the cheapest price on the set because they start to discount different components if you buy everything together. Total price with the XM tuner is $739.96

1304000NEX Pioneer AVH-4000NEX $599.99
794ADSMRR iDatalink Maestro ADS-MRR Interface Module $74.99
794HRRCH1 iDatalink HRN-RR-CH1 Factory Integration Adapter Free
12040EU10 Metra 40-EU10 Antenna Adapter Free
120956511 Metra 95-6511 Dash Kit Free
12044EC18 Metra 44-EC18 Antenna Extension Cable Free
220SXV300 SiriusXM SXV300V1 Tuner $49.99
Total $739.96

Easiest way to add this is to go here: Pioneer AVH-4000NEX DVD receiver at Crutchfield.com and click on Save on Installation Gear

If you have an android phone, you will want the 4001NEX instead for Android Play

NOT TRUE.

with google maps you can save areas on the maps so you can use them when you have zero cell service. you almost always have gps signal.

True, but Apple Maps does not support offline maps and you cannot use Google Maps through headunit. I believe they were just concerned with losing GPS on the unit.

Hey guys, I'm installing this setup this week. Anyone who has done it, it looks like the wiring harness wants me to tap into the obdii port and cut two of the wires going in. This seems a bit wierd. Anyone done this, and is it the best way to go?
