Default preparing for led's

So looking at adding some led's. Where to start ? So many options !! I want a decent set of led's not cheap that will not provide years of service. What is everyone running, looking for ideas. What is everyone doing for wiring ? I like the looks of the rugged ridge a-pillar mount and switches, what ae some ideas Thanks Jeremy

Consider a set of TrukLite headlights to start. Big improvement in on-road and off-road lighting.

Get the truck lites. There dot approved legal lights you will be using all the time. Lights bars can only be used offroad

Look into Trail-Flame by Ignite Offroad. A recent addition to the LED headlight market and a new vendor here on the forum. SAE/DOT , no codes being thrown, half the price of some other known brands, DRL/ turn signal options. Wide beams and full up to the bumper. Makes additional (legal street) lighting obsolete.....at least thats how it appears in the night shots. Luck

Rigid's DOT fogs are good, too. I have them along with the Trucklites.

As for off road lighting, stay away from eBay. I've had good experiences with Inspired Engineering (good quality leds that don't break the bank) and KC (can't go wrong with a 23 year warrantee, I have Gravity LED inserts in a pair of old Daylighters). If money is no issue, I've seen some good stuff from Baja Designs also. Thinking about getting a pair of their 6 inch HIDs at some point.

Some, but there's more bad than there is good. I've heard more stories about various no name light bars that either burn out within a week or don't even work at all than I can count. Can you find good deals on eBay, yes, you just have to sift through a ton of crap. IMO, Light bars look dumb to me anyways. Bigger reflectors always create a better light pattern.
