Default Stubby or short antenna recommendations

Can anyone recommend a good short antenna? I have the AntennaX 13" and I don't get very good reception. I live in a suburban area and believe I should be getting better reception than I am.

Odd. I've used that exact same antenna for 3.5 yrs and have never had any reception issues.

Maybe I have defective one. Who knows. I only get 1 channel while my stock antenna got dozens.

I presume you've verified it's making a good connection when you screw it in. I've had a couple other friends use the same antenna.....none of us have had an issue.

I also have the AntennaX one, it works fine for me. There are a few fringe or low areas where I notice starting to get static where I might not have before with the stock; but it's certainly been adequate.

Though ironically, while I did the stubby out of annoyance of the antenna always bouncing off branches; I now have a 41" VHF/HF "ham" antenna on the opposite side, lol. Though I guess at least that ones not bouncing off the A pillar like the radio antenna was.

I think I'm going to have to check the connection

I adjusted the connection a little and it helped some. Thanks.
