Underseat Sub Enclosures
#4
I built a couple versions for my Jeep over the last couple years:
Made these with carpet and Sundown SD-2 10":
These are Line-Xd and Sundown SD-3 10":
Both examples have internal volume of .6 cu ft. First has a mounting depth of 5", second has a mounting depth of 4 1/2" and is solid Fiberglas with 3/4" MDF mounting ring.

Matt, I'd like to build one of these for my passenger side. Looking through your old posts I found this picture. Are the two things in the front your molds? You then made an upper and lower section then glassed them together? I assume the recessed ring is where you put the mdf ring during the mild over process.

Choose your woofer and that will tell you how large the enclosure should be. Most 10" woofers need at least .5 cu ft and you have to make them closer to .6 cu ft to account for the mass of the woofer itself. Took me 4 prototypes to get to the optimal size.

These are great looking... once installed... do the sub boxes interfere with rear passenger feet space? meaning, will adult feet be limited at all and/or will someone's foot ever come into contact with the sub itself? not sure if i'm asking this right or not... lol
also, how do you keep the tops of the woofers clean? just use your air hose once in awhile to blow the subs off from dust?

No they don't interfere with the rear passenger unless they have huge feet. At least I've never had anyone in the back seat even ask about what is under the front seat.
I guess they can get dusty but but they are pretty protected up under the seats. Like you said, you can use an air compressor to blow them off if you think they need that.

If you have any question, please send me a PM.
I've made some improvements and all are Line-X'd now. I've found that it deadens the enclosure, looks great and makes it completely waterproof. (I know because my Jeep had 4" of standing water in it last Thursday)
I've also started a project for a rear mounted sub for a 2-door:
