See you there Scott! Beast decided to stay home for a near complete re-wire of all the accessories, so we will be breaking Vince's Jeep on this trip.

In running the wiring to the new welder in one of the back storage boxes, Jim determined that we need to go with a much heavier guage wire because of the distance to the alternator. So, we decided to rewire everything going into the rear. Here's Jen with the big boy split loom:

Yeah, that's a real nice rig. Pretty sure he runs Currie 60's front and rear with 42's and big coilovers.

We played around with a couple different locations for mounting the Premier power welder, but ultimately came back to our original choice: mounting it vertically inside the passenger side rear truck storage box. The box will house the welder, the 25 foot cords, welding helmet, welding supplies, tools, etc. - all with easy access for fast trail repairs.

Jim Cox decided we need to upgrade the air system if we plan to rely on air tools on the trail during recoveries. Thankfully, we already have an Oasis high performance HP3000 air compressor installed, which by itself has already run our impact wrench and grinder with no problem. To give us even better capabilities, the HigherGround Fab crew will be adding a 2.5 gallon air tank someone found in one of the shop storage sheds, and they mounted a retractable air hose reel with a 50 foot hose to the tailgate. With these mods, we should be able to run just about any airtool we want.

Slight change in plans for the air system - Jim found a bigger air tank in some pile somewhere (this one is 3 gallons). Cleaned it up and rattle-canned it black and it looks great, so we will be going with this one, rather than the smaller 2.5 gallon tank. Also, pic below is the retractable air hose reel with the tailgate closed - tight fit, but it works perfectly. Just hoping someone breaks something on the trail this weekend so we can test it out.

Is that a York 210 hooked up to an electric motor? I have mine running off the engine.
