Here's another trip from this past summer - there's been one other, but I still have to dig up the photos from it. I'll see what I can find..
Spillway - an hour and a half out of Drayton Valley, its controlled by Brazeau Dam. Water crossings are generally illegal, however due to the nature that it is a dam, there is no wildlife in the water and it makes for legal crossings.
I'm that guy.. I figure if there's someone to pull me out, I may as well try.

One of my favorite trips so far though. Beautiful weather - I'm pretty much bald, and I should have put some sun screen on the top of my head. I was pretty burnt after that trip.
But really - wheeling in the snow is a good time. You stay relatively clean, but you can't see what you're getting into either. The best part is though.. take any environment, any trip and you can basically do it again each season and it's completely different. I love it.

I don't purposefully go as deep as possible, but if a crossing comes up I'd rather be safe than sorry - so the snorkel made sense. A lot cheaper than a hydrolocked engine.
But this is where the fun really begins..
But safety first. And a taste of what's coming -

Front and rear bumper, plus a new drivers side fender.
I was tired of doing fenders, figured I'd do the rear bumper quickly just to get it done and have a change of pace. The bolts for the factory tow point were hell to get off, snapped the welds using the wrench and ended up grinding the rest off. The old bumper - cut up and ragged looking.
New brackets
Installed
Front bumper looked easy enough - still didn't have the top plate though.

Thank you - she's coming along!
I got a call from Impact that my remaining few pieces were done, so I rushed over to pick them up before they closed - front bumper caps came off,
And the stinger went on. I used to hate the look of these things - but they obviously grew on me and they do serve a purpose. When you're going down a hill and looking straight at the ground, if your rear tires come up and off the ground the purpose is to stop your jeep from rolling.
This is her current stance -
One more small addition this week that I'll update on and I'll be done building her for a bit - really happy with where she sits as it stands. Built to be functional, but also to my taste.
