dbrooks JK 2 door build
Hello all! I've kind of been in the shadows here for a bit, but I figured that I should start up a build thread. It will be kind of slow right now because I'm away from my Jeep right now. Only about a month left though.
I've been stockpiling a lot of parts lately. I have my lift, wheels, front bumper, EVO rear d ring mounts, and some other random goodies waiting for me to be back. I'll be installing all of it when I go on leave in June/July. I can't wait.
Here's some pictures as she currently sits. I've installed a CB and I took the running boards off. Feel free to ask any questions on what I have planned for her.

I'm new to this site (and to Jeeps, too) so I'm really looking forward to tracking the builds of forum members, especially the 2dr builds, as that's what I have. Good luck with yours! Can't wait to see the pictures as you make progress. I'm sure I'll be able to learn a lot for my upcoming build :-)

A few factors I'm considering: First, this is my DD so I can't go too crazy with mods - it needs to be 100% streetable. Second, I just blew most of my budget on the purchase - turns out, they're not giving 2016 Rubicon Hard Rock Editions away! And finally, my local geography comes into play, too. I live in Alameda, Ca which is pretty much smack dab in the middle of the San Francisco Bay Area. So my nearest off-roading location is over 2 hours away - at least as far as I know. All these factors considered, I've been researching what is the biggest tire I can run with NO lift. Wondering if I can run 33's? If possible, I'd like to just put some slightly bigger tires on it for now... Otherwise, if I have to go with a lift, I'll probably end up with a 2.5 and 35's...

That's awesome to hear. Then as far as my build goes, I think I'm going to start out by mounting some 33's on my stock 17" rims. I've done some research on high quality spacers, so I'll be getting them, too. The bigger tires and slightly wider stance will satisfy my mod bug for a while, so I can prepare my budget for some larger scale upgrades next you. So, in the meantime, I'll have to enjoy all the build threads here, including yours! Thanks again for the great info.

@LearJeff that's awesome to hear. Do you have a build thread? I like having one so you can see all the changes. Only about 13 more days until I'm headed home. I won't be doing all of my mods that I have collected, but I do think I'm going to mount my new bumper and possibly trim my fenders. I'll be taking leave in late June and lll be able to really get things going.
