Awesome. Looking forward to see how that turns out. I just wish you knew what temper you had! haha

Are you upgrading to a V8 also. I'm wondering of going your route with only 37s will be too much for the 3.6l v6.

I had 4.88 gears with my 37s (manual trans) and it was awesome. No power issues at all. Like a go-cart around town and no issues running at speed on the highway.

I went with 5.38 gears for the 40s. It's not a daily driver, so it should be more than fine. I have a Rubi t-case for wheeling. If the 4:1 doesn't cut it, I'll put an Atlas in.

Only place I can see wanting more power is off the bottom while wheeling. In that case, I'd go a roots type super charger before a V8. The 3.6 with a roots type charger produces more torque off the bottom than both an LS and a Hemi. And the horsepower is on par at over 400. Cheaper and an afternoon project. Only catch is we need some shops to get some good aftermarket tunes. The stuff that Magnuson and Edelbrock send out seems to bring the suck.

Got quite a bit done this weekend, however, I forgot to take pictures of most of it.... Finished welding up the rear towers. Cycled the rear suspension. Shockingly, there are no issues. Below are the few things I grabbed pictures of.

Decided to make the first set of MetalCloak MC^2 arms. Had them dipped in cadmium to match the joints. Not a perfect match, but that's ok. For those who aren't aware, the coating MC uses is zinc chromate. Cadmium is notably better, but known to be a potential carcinogen, so most manufacturers can't use it. Anyway, the coating has strong anti-corrosion properties. So, if you scratch up the arms on rocks, the bare metal doesn't rust (chemical reaction, etc.). My Dad has a MetalCloak lift and the bottoms of the arms were trashed from the rocks. He drove it all winter in MI. Went to look at it this weekend and while the whole underside of his Jeep is pure rust, the arms had literally none. Plenty of bare metal on the arms too. Cool stuff.

As mentioned, got the rear suspension done. Some XX porn from the weekend.

My strut towers are around 22" tall. They sent some baby gussets that weren't going to cut it. I made up these 14" tall gussets.

Added some gussets to the rear crossmember and painted it.

Decided to pick up a press/finger brake so I can bend metal. Below is the start of a new battery and fuse box mount. A little bit of work left to do...
