I can't get away from them!
I have regearing on the todo list also, but am holding back on it until I start the new axle build.

Debating if I need a new axle, only have the X but not planning on wheeling it that hard. I think I'll just run it till it breaks.

Their are a few mods you can do to the stock axles that will allow you to strengthen the know weaknesses for not much done. New axles are a big investment (in my cheque book anyway). My plan is to build a D60 front and 14 bolt rear next year.

I have crank windows and found a perfectly sized package of Velcro at tractor supply. I applied one strip there and the back of my iPhone/iPod and the top left of the windshield for my gps.

Edit: I also disassembled the center part
Of the dash and ran the wires through there for a cleaner look. If you want to see more of that just let me know

So I've been pretty complacent with updating this recently. I've been busy at work and planning a few wheeling trips. I ordered my Cobra 29 with a firestik II 3' antenna and an 18' cox. It mounted great on my rugged ridge 3rd brake light bracket. I had a heck of a time getting the CB to work correctly (as this is my first CB) but finally got it working well enough for me. I shoved it in a tuffy over head console which I think is a great product. Just not with my cobra 29 or jeep...

I had to cut a 4"x1.5" hole on the back to get the coax and power supply to fit while still being able to lock the CB inside. I also had to drill new holes in the rear mounting bracket because when the holes were aligned, the bracket wouldn't fit around the roll bar under the sound bar.

To address the head light issue (I'm still refusing to pay $400 for headlights!) I am waiting on some KC dually's to arrive, which will most likely happen on Wednesday. I'm going to try and mount them by the windshield and hope the hi lift hood mount doesn't block the 12 degree spot pattern. If it does, I'll try to flip the hi lift first and if that still doesn't work right, I'll try to remove the "foot" of the hi lift. And if neither work, I'll have to mount it on the tire carrier and maybe throw a light bar on the hood. (although I would really like to keep it where it is now).

After a day trip to GWNF yesterday, we all decided to air back up at the sheetz in town... Until their air machine didn't work. I had a little compressor for the guys running stock tires, and I borrowed a buddies portable VIAIR compressor to get my 35's up to an acceptable pressure. I looked at some OBA systems but I want to avoid mounting inside the engine bay. The ARB twin compressor fits under the seat but I didn't like the price. So I'm leaning towards a 15 lbs power tank at the moment which will probably be the next mod.

Things still to come that come to mind without looking at my official list:
-OBA/power tank -Rifle and bow mounts (once I figure a way out)
-Regear to 4.56 with LSD front and either a Detroit or LSD in the rear.
-Bed line the tub
-Rockers

The hole I cut. I made it pretty and painted it afterwards.

No pictures yet, but I have an update:

KC dually cubes will arrive tomorrow, pictures will be up soon after. I also have been looking everywhere for rubicon rails and finally acquired some from Ade after looking at his build thread.

I have also decided to go with a 15lbs power tank rather than OBA and a compressor.

After that, this thread will probably slow down. My family has asked me to not get any more jeep parts till the holidays are over to avoid double purchases.
