Default RIPP Superchargers #ProjectBarnFind 2dr JK Build

Hey Guys, let me introduce you to our newest in house project, a completely virgin low mileage (60k on the clock), 2008 6-speed Sahara.
Finding a 6 speed 2 door JK is a rarity in the NYC area, so its safe to say this one is special.

This thread will be updated regularly so make sure to check it weekly.
Our first episode is a simple baseline run on stock horsepower and torque. No modifications at all!

6/26 RIPP COLD AIR INTAKE

Intake Time! The RIPP cold air intake will yield 8-10 horsepower with no other modifications.
We utilize a stainless steel, powder coated intake pipe along with a carbon fiber, sealed air box with a high quality filter element inside.
Offered for both the 3.8 and 3.6

These filters are washable and can be used to connect a snorkel system right into the inlet.

7/2 RIPP CAT-BACK EXHAUST

Working on the exhaust side of things, it was time to install our brand new RIPP Exhaust System for both 3.8 & 3.6 JK Wranglers

We've sampled a bunch of the Jk exhausts out there and while each are nice we wanted something quieter with a mature sound to it.
This system went through 4 different generations until we were satisfied with the sound and overall performance gain.
The RIPP Exhaust uses a flow-through design with small compartments through the inside of the muffler to cancel out those high pitch sounds that come out of the v6, making a nice overall sound without drone or sounding like a lawn mower.
All of the pipes are mandrel bent that stay consistent from tip to tip and are tucked up neatly under the chassis for the wheeler in mind. You won't get it caught on a long arm or drag an exhaust tip when going over an obstacle.

7/13 RIPP Spark plug wires

Like any vehicle on the road today, maintenance and upkeep is always key. Keeping this into consideration, we put our brand new spark plug wires on the 3.8

Featuring a larger core than stock mopar plugs, the pictures tell it exactly how it is.

Our wires are designed to fit in the stock 3.8 brackets behind the engine and come with looming like factory

Finally, if you get yourself confused along the way, we illustrated a firing order diagram on the back to get you on track!

Next up on this build will be long tube headers. For our 07-08 3.8 owners, you will benefit from these greatly. With 4 cats in your exhaust manifolds,
your exhaust temps are already skyrocketing from the factory manifolds with a significant bottle neck of flow. This heat soaks the engine and hampers performance.
Our long tube headers use equal length runners and high flow cats to a race collector to provide maximum efficiency and scavenging.
Let's not spoil things, you guys and girls will have to wait!

Back under the knife! This time we're installing our RIPP long tube headers. Being an 08 JK, the 3.8 has four cats after the exhaust manifolds, that's right FOUR! all that's doing is robbing performance and adding immense amounts of heat. Our headers are made of high quality stainless steel, come with high flow cats and dump into a race collector for the best possible efficiency and power numbers. Stay tuned for the installation and video!

7/31/15 RIPP Long Tube headers

Continuing on with the exhaust side of ths 3.8, its time for our RIPP Long tube headers. as we've explained before, those super restrictive exhaust manifolds and cats are doing nothing beneficial for your engine other than turning it into an oven! Unlike our competitors we're here to put everything we produce to the test, otherwise, whats the point?

Check out the video and enjoy!
The video is finally here!

Do you guys get obd2 emissions testing in nyc? Do all of the monitors set after you install your in tune tuner?

Emissions in NYC for an obd2 vehicle consists of a plug-in type inspection. When we installed the headers we also replaced the sensors with OEM oxygen sensors. Thus, no check engine lights and all adaptives have set in place.

How many drive cycles does it take for your o2 and catalyst adaptive to cycle on?

Hey guys, sorry for the lack of updates but Barnfind is back in action!

We have a bunch of goodies coming in over the next few months getting the rig ready for Spring!

Getting onto the aesthetics and safety side of things, it was time to ditch the factory tail lights and replace them with something brighter and more up to date. From Spyder Auto, we received their smoked LED tailights that should compliment the silver nicely.

Installation was a breeze, especially since these were plug and play, there was no wire splicing necessary.

The other benefit being they come already equipped with a load resistor so no hyper flashing or bulb out warnings on the dash!

Next up we'll tackle the interior, here's a sneak peak!
