Default How fast can you run with aired down tires?

I'm running a 12 JKU Rubicon with 285/75-17 KM2's (34in) on stock Moab wheels. I've got some long stretches of desert driving to do with mostly pretty good surface where 30-40mph is ok but with lots of intermittent rough stuff at a crawl. I'd like to air down to soften the ride a bit. If I go down to ~20 psi, will 30-40mph be hard on the tires? I would trial and error this to be safe but I don't want to overheat and ruin any tires.

Whether or not it's the "right" thing to do or how many others would disagree, I wheel about 10 miles away each weekend. I run 8psi in 37" mud grapplers which are load rated at E. I've never aired up before I left and run the speed limit home, the max of which is 65 mph. I've never had a problem. Take that for what you will.

20 psi isn't really aired down. At 20 I wouldn't even worry about what speed your doing

I've gone 70 mph for miles aired down to 11 psi in my mtrks countless times. Probably not smart but i have to get to air somehow.
