I bit the bullet and bought the Rugged Ridge Magnetic Protection panels. I finally got to use them last week during 3 days of off-roading in Vermont. When i applied them there were two quality issues, the cutout for the rear passenger door handle was the wrong size and the hole for the trail rated badge was too small. Other than that everything fit perfect. Two of the small ones under the door blew off on the highway before I hit my first patch of dirt. After that I was expecting all of them to fall off in the woods. They held up great, none of the others moved at all.

One tip I have is to unroll them and lay them flat for several days before installing. They are rolled tight in the box and the plastic has a memory, took 2 days for them to be straight.

Idk I think I would rather deal with the scratches. Seems like another thing you'll end up worrying about on the road and trail. Not to mention the quality issues your talking about with fitment.

Not to mention the laughs and ridicule you'll receive when people see them! I've never even mentioned such a thing and yet my buddies have already made fun of the possibility of me having them.

I know a guy with a JK with many miles on his, including major league off roading (Moab every year as a guide, included.) He swears by them and his paint looks great.

You can see why no one laughs at his. Instead, they ask where he got them.

Those are pretty cool. Never seen them painted. Where did he get them?

Now imagine the opposite use of these magnetic sides. In town for business logo, then take them off when heading out ! Or even a second set to change out a theme or just for appearance sake.

That is so awesome! Any links to where one can get a set?

I just put Simoniz Diamond Plate ceramic coating on my jeep. My buddy owns a detailing shop and we used my jeep as a promo vehicle to show off just how good this stuff is. We just got done filming the application process and are waiting for everyone's schedules to align to film a mud video. I'm doing my first run on Sunday since applying the ceramic coat so I'll be curious on how it performs. So far, huge thumbs up!
