2013 jku with 35x12.5x17 nitto trail grapplers. 3.73 gearing. Get 14.25-14.5 most of time. Seen as high as 19 and as low as 10 when off road all day

Edit. Haha it helps if you read whole thread lol. Mine have about 24k on em and are about half way done.

I love how this thread randomly goes from talking about tire life to fuel economy and everyone is still getting along. Cool.

It might be me, but it seems that the guys running 35"s and 37"s are tending to get better city MPGs than the stock guys? Who woulda thought... I know what my next mod is.

I have a 2012 JKU Rubicon automatic with 35" Wrangler MTRs. I just drove from Houston to Moab and back and got 18 MPG between Santa Fe and Pagosa Springs due to the slow speed limits in New Mexico. The mileage goes down as the speed picks up. 65 MPH yields 17 MPG. 78 MPH yields 15 MPG, etc. Overall tire life on MTRs is about 28,000 miles. Great tires for traction on and off road, but expensive and don't last long. I have to point out though, that for a tire that is 12.5" across, it doesn't hydroplane when it rains which is a huge safety advantage.
