Rear Bumper Upgrade?

If you're running the stock tire size, I don't think you need to get a new tire carrier/bumper. Spend that money on skids, sliders & gas money to get you out wheeling
An aftermarket bumper will get you more clearance & be stronger. My stock rear bumper already has a few dents from wheeling. In my opinion, if you have a working man's budget like most of us do, there are other mods that should take priority over the rear bumper/tirecarrier combo.
If you go with a bigger tire, a tire carrier / tire carrier bumper is a good idea. I just went to 35's, the spare fits on the stock spare mount but also rests on the bumper which helps to keep weight & some vibration off the tailgate. Going to run it this way until I get an aftermarket bumper with a tire carrier. If you have anything bigger than a 35', it won't fit & then don't have a choice.
