Default Rim and tire question

First post. Been lurking for a few weeks before signing up. I just recently bought a 2016 Unlimited Sport. I had a question about aftermarket wheels and tires. I'm looking at these pro comp 17x9 rims with the Mickey Thompson Baja MTZ radial 35x12.50 17. What's concerning me is the 9 inch width of the rim and the 12.50 width of the tire. Will everything be just fine or should I be looking for a wider rim?

Hope this is the right section of the forum for this question.

Don't worry, you'll be just fine.
If you want to, look at the specs of the tire, it'll tell you what rim width it accommodates.

Yeah I looked it up on the MT website and it says 8.5-10.0.

17x9 is the perfect rim for a 35x12.5 as long as it has 4.75 or less backspacing (you can use 5.2" backspacing and be ok with most 35x12.5) I I am fine with my toyos with that.

Thanks for the help. I went ahead and placed the order for Pro Comp Series 7036 17x9 5x5 pattern and 35x12.50R17LT Baja MTZ Radials.

I have pro comp 15x9 rims with Micky Thompson 35x12.5x15 tires and they work great. As you may know very few 15" rims work with JK.
