Lol... it is just a friendly debate. I crushed a Toyota Corolla that ran a stop sign and while his car was totaled, no damage to my jeep... stubby and all. Thank goodness no one was hurt.

No problem guys.
A Corolla bumped into my rear bumper (Bestop HighRock) at slow speed. The Corolla got an all new front shape. There wasn't even a scratch on the paint of my bumper...

I want a stubby but kind of glad I had a full width. I was in a minor crash Wednesday. No body damage but cracked my front axle tube. His Honda accord was trashed. Would a stubby bumper do as well? This was my first upgrade and told the wife it was for safety because she was pregnant with our first kid. Well my daughter was in the Jeep with me when it happened.

I went stubby mostly because it looks better, but offroad it does help out with approach angles and it doesn't get hung up or hit as much stuff. And I can climb other jeep's tires, so that's cool too!

In the pics, the wheel seems to have been turned to the right just before the crash -- and into that Honda.

Please explain what happened.

He cut in front of me. I was straight on main highway. He turned left in front of me and I actually was trying to miss to the left so they were cut to left. But think my wheel actually hit cause my spline shaft out of the box was sheered off. Thats why the wheels are all whiches of ways.

After seeing all these pics, I'm definitely upgrading to some Poison Spyder or Genright fenders now as added insurance. Also part of the reason why I run wide with 1.25" spacers and 3.5"-4" backspace (depending which set of beadlocks I'm rolling with) with a 2.5-3" lift. I'm just high enough compared to most vehicles and my tires pushed out enough so at least in most cases they'll hit the tire first.

Had an incident where a 4 door saturn tried cutting me off and at the time, I had E-rated KM2's on. Was running tires flush to the fenders with 1.25" spacers and OEM 18" wheels on 34's. Those KM2's acted like a grinder and totally jacked up his driver's side front quarter panel, driver door, and rear passenger door. I only suffered a few fender scratches and a scratched up OEM 18" wheel.

I currently run a PS stubby front and if I ever decided to change would consider a mid-length. I just can't get into the looks of a full-length.

I cut my stock bumper down to a stubby with the Rough Country kit. It looks better and it's alot easier to disconnect the sway bar links without that in the way.
