'12 Rubicon lift/tire/wheel help
Looking for a little help. Not being lazy. Been looking around here for days hoping to find exactly what I need.
Looking to do a small lift, run 33s, black rims on '12 Rubicon unlimited. Daily driver with occasional offroad.
Hoping to see similar setups anyone may have done. Only want to do a modest lift to accommodate 33s, thinking Nitto Trail Grapper M/T 285/65R18, but not set.
Will be buying black wheels. What offset do I need? Will the spare fit on the stock spare rack or does it need changed? Have Rugged Ridge double tube rear bumper Jeep JK Wrangler Powdercoat Rear Tube Bumper - 11571.10
Any thoughts would be great.

Not a Rubi or a 4 door, but am running rubi springs and shocks. I have no lift except what i got from the springs, maybe a inch. I am running 295/70/17 Cooper Discoverer STT on Pro Comp 7069 with 4.5" back spacing. No rubbing on road, will need to trim off road.

So I think I've figured out what I'd like to do. Can anyone shoot any holes in this or tell me if there's anything else I need to consider? Still not sure about the need for an aftermarket spare carrier with 35s? Also, would any other mods be necessary with this combo of lift/wheels/tires? Again, mostly road driving with occasional off road.
Teraflex 2.5" BB
Mickey Thompson Sidebiter II wheels 17X9 4.5" offset 5X5 bolt pattern (stock #90000019389)
Nitto Trail Grappler M/T 35s LT315/70/R17 (stock #205-710) - measured rim stated as 9.5. Assuming the Mickey wheels at 9" is fine?
Thanks.

Yes you'll want a tire carrier. Your choices seem fine. If you plan on adding more weight (bumper, winch, gear) switch to coils instead of the spacers that a BB comes with. If you're looking to stay mainly stock that's a good start.

I had a 2007 Unlimited on a 3.5" lift and 35's (2.5" bb before that). It looked awesome, but it wasn't exactly great as a daily driver. Add in a few episodes of death wobble that left a yellow puddle in the driver seat, and I decided this go around I would not be going that big.
On my 2014 JKURX I did a simple 1.5" Teraflex leveling kit, and a set of 295/70/17 Nitto Trail Grapplers. It looks, drives, and rides awesome. I can go down the interstate at 85mph with no worries, straight as an arrow. Just a thought, but I know I'm VERY happy with the results.

I think it was 33.3"x11.6" so a bit larger than the 285. I think it really turned out well. I'm not a fan of the 2.5" lift with 35's as I think they look a little "stuffed" in there.

Westbayou did you use wheel spacers for your set-up on your 2014 JKURX with 1.5" Teraflex leveling kit and 295/70/17 Nitto Trail Grapplers on Factory Rubicon Wheels? If not, any problems or rubbing while going off-road? If you did use wheel spacers what was the type and thickness? Thank you for the information.
