16" Wheels fit on a Jeep Sahara?
Just went to Town Fair Tire looking to purchase a new tire and wheel package. I was going for 16" wheels but they said that it would not work with the Sahara version. Its a 2009 Sahara. Is this true?

This has been in previous threads, but the sahara brake calipers are larger than the x and rubicon calipers for some odd reason. I have a sahara that I put 15 inch wheels on and had to use a small spacer. I have had no problems running the 5/8 spacers for the last two years on and off road. I check them at each tire rotation to make sure they are still intact. So I would imagine 16 inch would be just fine on any model. If you do run into mild rubbing you could put chalk on them, see where they are rubbing and then grind them a little bit. I went the spacer route with plans to grind later, but it has been working out so well that I probably won't even bother grinding them. Hope this helps! Go on and get those 16s, they will be fine just make sure the backspacing is at least 4.5 so you don't leave to little final backspacing which will put pressure on areas of your jeep where you don't want it. This would lead to problems later. Good luck!

Went to the Jeep dealership this morning and he said that 16s will fit on the Sahara. So Town Fair Tire was full of BS for sure! Thanks everyone for the in put and the pics! Once I get the new tires and wheels I will certainly post some pictures.
