I have asked in the teraflex tire carrier thread but haven't got an answer yet. I will call teraflex tomorrow but figured I'd check here first. I'll paste what I posted there...

I got my hinge carrier today. I also ordered the teraflex single spacer (part #1055005) as I am using stock wheels and the stock tire mount. Here's where I am confused. The instructions for the spacer say to press the studs into the adjustable tire mount. I didn't buy the adjustable tire mount, I am reusing my stock one and was told to order this spacer to make it work.

So, my uneducated guess is that I will need to press the studs into the spacer and use it between my tire and stock mount. However, what I am confused about is that the bolts on the spacer are advertised as longer. If they were supposed to be used on the adjustable mount, will they be too long for use on the spacer and stock mount combo and prevent the tire from snugging up? Also, the spacer did not come with lug nuts. Which lug nuts will work best? I would like to avoid my tire bouncing down the road behind me lol

Is anyone running this set up who can help me out?

Here's what I have. 315/70/17 duratracs. The teraflex HD hinged carrier. Teraflex spacer (#1055005). Stock tire mount.

Thanks!

I modeled my JK after seeing this one. Stock wheels, 35' Nitto Trail Grapplers and LOD bumpers and carrier. Absolute perfection.

Havent flexed at all but there is no rub on the road at full turn while going forward but they do rub a little when I am backing up at full turn. Should be fixed when my lift comes in and i cut the fenders.

Silly question.....I have the stock 17x7.5 Arctic edition black wheels on my JK like many others in this thread. My question is this. How are you all fitting these tires on such a skinny wheel?? All the tire manufacturers I have researched claim the minimum rim width for a 35x12.5x17 is 8.5. Even some of the metric tires like the typical 315/70/17 call for the same or an 8" at the least.
Has anyone experienced any negative effects due to the narrow rim size?
