Default Fender cut without adding plastic edge trim

I decided to take the leap and cut my fenders, but never liked the look of the plastic edge that some apply to cover up the cut edge. I figured I would take my time and try to get a clean finish that required no trim. Well to my surprise, it turned out not so bad. I started off by buying a pneumatic jig saw from Harbor Freight, took my time cutting, then did multiple stages of sanding Click image for larger version

Sanding is key to getting the edge nice and smooth. Looks good now you just need to paint your fender wells black to complete the look.

I've been looking at pics of cut fenders a lot trying to get ideas on shape/style before doing mine. These maybe my favs. Great job.

Would you be able to go into more detail about the sanding portion?

Sanding block works wonders. That's what I did and there smooth. No edging needed

For sure some of the nicest cut fenders I've seen. Wish I had the nerve to try it...

Just wanted to say that these are the best I've seen so far. I've been in the body shop business for over 35 years and though modifications like this wouldn't be hard to do, I never saw a set done so cleanly so I never even considered it.

After seeing yours, guess I'm going to have to break out some tools and paint.

Very nice!
