I stocked up on ball ammo when I bought this piece back in 2004. I bought 5,000 rds at that time. And, because I bought so much at once, the guy sent me 600 rds of AP ammo. Talon ammo no less. I paid $1.19/rd at that time. I've slowly unloaded some on gunbroker over the last two years. I still have over 3,000 rds left. So no reloading, yet. But, I have sold the gunbroker rds for about $5 each for ball ammo. 10 rd packs. I've made my money back and then some. Ammo, better investment than anything else I dropped money in.

Very smart. The going rate around here is $5 a pop. You were wise to stock up at that price. Must be a blast to shoot.

I know. I have a little collection. Here's a few, but not all. And, I buy a box of ammo for each caliber I own, every month. Whether I shoot or not. If I do shoot, I buy two boxes to replace the one. Been doing this for over 20 years. I have a nice cache. Let's just say, when we moved, I had to do paperwork in a few states we were passing through, just so I didn't go to the iron bar hotel. Even though everything is legal, some states don't like the pass through with such a collection.

The bull pup, I once had for sale, right around the time they were starting to get banned. The derringer, bought from armslist. Two of my favorite boomy sites are Armslist.com & gunbroker.com. Lots of good finds there, but you need to know the going pricing. I like to use those sights to see what the market is bearing as well.

Very nice collection. I know what you mean as far as states. When I moved from MA to FL I sold almost everything because I was told I couldn't bring certain things through certain states. I would have had to ship everything to an FFL and it didn't seem worth it. But hey, got to start over on the collection and that wasn't that bad. What kills me is people are hoarding 22LR. That's what my wife shoots and it just doesn't make any sense to me.

they are buying up the stock as soon as it arrives at the store. It's a false demand. And you are correct. They are literally hoarding .22.
