Rear storage box
Here is my rear storage box I built about a year ago.
It can only be opened or removed with the back gate open.
4th picture shows how it has to be tilted to remove. The shaft and pin are SS.
The tube /receiver is 1/4 wall tube 1/2''I.D. 1''O.D.
I still need to build a carry handle. The handle that was on it rattled.
The ammo can is full of tools and can be carried to were it is needed.
It works with the back seat also.

I had the idea for a long time. I thought it would be cool to use the Jeep gate as a lock, already have enough keys to carry around.
The lock can be built with common tools also. I used a 4 1/2" angle grinder to make the slot in the tube. The shaft is just a long 1/2" SS bolt (threads removed) with a 1/4"SS bolt used as a pin.
