Off subject but where did you get the top racks mounted and what brand are they? I've been dying to try something. I was going to install the Yakima tracks and then add the towers and bars. Any ifo would be great! Thanks -pikejd

Sorry for the off topic reply to the Rescue Green thread in advance, but here was my response on the roof rack question:

Those are older Thule bars with a ski rack and 1992 ford explorer feet. I had that same rack on my 1982 SAAB! When I had my TJ, I mounted the Thule rail kit to the fiberglass top using artificial rain gutters.

See Thule kit TP42 at the URL:

http://www.thuleracks.com/thule/prod...id=69&sku=TP42

This was so I could move the rails around to adjust between skis, snow boards, bike and a Thule box, etc. This time I'm planning on just mounting the footings directly to the JK top, I just have to summon the courage to drill holes in my new vehicle.

Either Thule or Yakima should have the adjustable rail kits; the problem is you need to drill 10 holes for each side. I never had an issue with leaks on my TJ; here is what it looks like inside the top.

Good luck and let me know what you end up with for a JK rack solution. BTW- I have not even drilled holes for my Hella 500's in my JK front bumper yet. Still running the stock tires (first new vehicle since 1989.)

Ciao! Ted

Instead of drilling the freedom top and mounting artificial rain gutters, you can use the Thule old school standard feet and there are alot more mounting options due to the increased width and length of the unlimited freedom top.

From Thule's website feet recommended for the 2007 Unlimited:

OPTION 1 | ROOF MOUNT SYSTEM BASE PRODUCT
300 Gutter Foot Pack | LB58 Load Bar

$190 for the bars and feet.....
