I think you're all wrong! The custom is to honor the "union" portion of the flag. it is expected to always be placed in the position of the "highest honor." Displayed on a wall, that position as at the top left, or on a casket, it is over the "left shoulder" of the deceased, etc. But the position of honor is always at the front of a column, procession, or moving vehicle. Thus the "union" should be closest to the front. (which is why it's placed in the traditional direction of the left sides of vehicles.)



Also regarding the "dirty" comment, if one should never allow it to get dirty or touch the ground, placing them on Jeeps is probably the LAST place it should be displayed. LoL

However there are no criminal penalties for incorrectly displaying it...especially if the original "intent" is a respectful display....so basically who gives a crap! Lol

Good post, and agreed.

I'm a little surprised at all the "KCCO" stickers. I think jeep forum stickers are tacky, but at least you know you have something in common with the person other than an interest in pictures of Internet hoes and cats.
