If you actually go off road in your jeep, and don't just hop the curb at Walmart, going to 35's with those gears, and no intention to change them is a big mistake IMHO. I have a 2014 Sahara with 3.21, mine is a manual, and I have 33's. Even with the experience I have, it's very hard to crawl rocks with a stick and 3.21's. Toss in the open diff's, and yeah, it's tough. With 35's you'll be killing your crawl ratio even more, loosing even more torque, it will blow.

I've actually been purchasing parts here and there, and i'm going to 4.56 gears with my 33's, and truetracs front and rear. That will completely change the capability of the jeep. I will also say that 33's look great on my 2 door, and they perform great. I've had big tires and lifts, and i've found I feel more stable with the smaller set up. Trust me, girls like 33's just as much as 35's.

Quick question for you, Mark. You obviously do a lot of highway driving to get to and from these wheeling excursions you go on, whats your opinion on long highway jaunts between the 33s and 35s? BTW love your videos and SUPER jealous of the beautiful places you have seen. One day...

Glad you like the videos! The day I put 35s on is also the day I regeared from 4.10s to 4.88s. So it was pretty much a wash for me, though now the engine is running at more revs. Of course, this is with a 3.8.

Sorry I wasn't clear. I meant as far as handling and uneasiness at highway speeds etc.

Oh. Pretty much the same. My Jeep drives well at highway speeds. When the wind picks up, things may become interesting. But that isn't the tires so much as the lack of aerodynamics.

Mark

I have a friend with 35's and 3.21's and he has no power and never uses 6 gear. My jeep has 33's and I climbed several 13,000 ft passes. Mine is a 2 dr and never came close to dragging. My wife and daughter fuss ever time they have to climb in and I have sidedoor steps and grabs above the door.
I'm 5'10 and I have to heave myself in. I'm happy with the way the 33's preform and look.i have no plans of getting anything bigger. I have problems holding cruise control with. 33's; noway will 35's hold it.

For me I wanted Trail Grapplers

The so called "35" over all diameter is 34.84 inches
I went with so called "33" 295/70 had an over all diameter of 33.54

The difference between the two is 1.3 inches. The net height clearance difference once mounted is just over a half an inch. (.65")

Eventually when I finally decide on a wheel I like, I will probably go with the 35 too. But the 295/70 fit nicely on the stock rim and I saved a few bucks for now.

Roy those look sweet could you please post more pics with different angles.

I want 35's, but I do not want the extra cost of getting them with additional components. Those 33's look awesome. I am running stock wheels too.
