9 Straight Hour Trip only stopped for gas.
So I Just came back from my Easter trip to South Georgia and here are my findings with my set up. It was the Jeeps first big trip
Trip Down I took all interstate Highways speeds were 65+ MPH
Jeep Handled great above 65 MPH and even Better at 80 MPH which is what I set the cruise at
Only complaints I had are Getting into the left to pass was fine in 6th but I had to floor it. 5th gear was more for urgent passing. Also was a windy section on I 95 between Savanna and Brunswick. Tossed the Jeep around a little bit.
MPG was 16.1 which was ok since I was doing 80 most of the time.
When I got into South GA in town 15-16 MPG stop and go.. thats what I expected..
Hit the Trails 4.4 MPG mix between 4L and 4H
Trip up I decided to take my time, mostly back roads and State Highways Speeds were 25-60 MPH few stoplights and stop signs.
MPG was 20.6 MPG I was really impressed with this.
Jeep Handled ok between stop and 35 mph. On the bumpy parts above 45 to 60Mph it was a little floaty and twitchy.. When the road smoothed out it became fine to handle. The Jeep really does not like bumpy roads at those speeds.
All in all I'm Happy with 3.73's and The performance. I don't want to re-gear to 4.10's because it will kill my highway use and I can handle 16 MPG at 80 MPH. It also was great on the trail no issues climbing and getting through mud. I hope this thread will help other members. Any input would be great as well.

Thats a nice area. Right on the coast very pretty, but super windy on the highway at 80 MPH I had to slow down because the gusts were bad. I actually went to the Moultrie Thomasville area. I also slipped down to Tallahassee FL to see a friend for a few hours during this trip as well.

I have made the trip from FL to VA a few times. Found that anything over 70 offered worse gas mileage. Benefits of driving a vehicle with the aerodynamics of a brick, and I wouldn't have it any other way. Around town I get roughly 17-19 on the highway it is 12-14.
35x12.50s, 3.5 lift, 3.73 gears

I totally agree with you on the speed thing. MPG sucks after 70. I'm going to try and stay off the interstates and take state highways and enjoy the scenery and the ride.
