Default Airbag Light- NOT Clock Spring???

Hey everyone. I'm having a problem with my airbag light on my 08 with 86,000 miles.
The horn still works & I tried the steering wheel test, turning it to both sides while parked but the light illuminates immediately; which leads me to believe it is not the clock spring.

What else could it be?

Thanks in advance!

Not sure how accurate that test is.. But it's an issue a lot of us (2008 owners) have dealt with. Mine messed up around 75,000 and I filed my complaint with NHTSA. My horn still works, just as yours does. Good luck with yours and hopefully yours is an easier fix , like maybe just a loose connection somewhere.

I had it too, replaced under extended warranty with $100 deductible. Check with the dealership to see if you have the extended warranty.

Would I have had to pay for the extended warranty?

Yes- unless it was negotiated when you purchased.

I just got my clock spring replaced. It's not a recall, but an extended warranty till 2017.
My airbag light stayed on, but the horn would work once in a blue moon.

What year is your Jeep? Did you have an extended warranty? How did you get it replaced? Did they send you a letter?

I just took it into the dealer and they told me your vin is not selected for a recall. Luckily someone told me that Chrysler extended the warranty on all 07 and 08, so went back in and told the service advisor and BINGO it was true!

I have the 07.
