Any 2012 JK Haters want to dragrace their 3.8's vs a 3.6?

I wish they would put an updated version of the old 4.0 liter inline 6 back in them. True worhorse. Updated meaning better fuel economy and horsepower. They could have tuned these motors to do that. I would take that over a 3.6 or 3.8 any day of the week...

How about we end the bickering and do a real world side by side race?
Ive got a 2012 JK Auto that would love to line up side by side to a 2011 or older JK with a 3.8L and see what happens.
Lets see if there is any truth to all this hype.
Anyone in Western Washington between Seattle and Vancouver interested?
Ive got A Mountable GoPro camera to capture the event..
Heck, I'd even like to see it line up next to a Supercharged 3.8L.. anyone have one of those??

Everything we do on the jeep is opposite of setting up for drags. When I used to set up VW Bugs for street, going with smaller diameter tires and lowering was the way to go. I get the OP's challenge though. There has been enough talk about "real world" performance that a drag race to compare the two was inevitable. Who wouldn't mind better acceleration for on-ramps etc.? Problem is that most of us would mod it until the gains in street performance for the 2012 are negated.

I think it would be nice if one of the dudes who own a 2011 or older and who test drove a 2012 then proclaimed there is no difference to race theirs against a 2012 just so they'd shutup...lol. I had a 2wd 2008 JK following me home from Eastern Oklahoma and while my cruise was set at 70, and I'm averaging 21.8mpg for the trip, they were struggling to keep up with their Jeep floored in the mountains of SE Oklahoma.
