Anyone miss the 3.8?
I just was wondering if anyone misses the 3.8 or if anyone loves the 3.8? All I hear is how great the 3.6 is and people's attitudes are almost as though you dont have a jeep if its not a 3.6! I haven't driven one yet but is it really that great or is it just that people tend to think what they own is the best, kinda like people's opinions on lifts, tires, etc.

I have a '10 auto Unlimited with 35's,4:88's, SuperChips, and SprintBooster. I test drove a stock 12' 2dr Rubi with the 4:10's and didn't notice any difference. I guess stock for stock the 3.6 is better. Wasn't noticeable enough especially when i considered the Rubi was a two door with stock 32's.
Having said that, I a considering a Supercharger but for the 5K I can get a 2013

I have the 3.8L and test drove the 3.6L, both with 3.73 gears. Does the 3.6L have more power? Yes, most of it seemed to come into play in the higher rpm. The big difference, IMO, is not the engine, but the tranny. The new 5-speed is much better geared than the previous. Nonetheless, they both still have minivan engines. We need a hemi option

I have the 3.6 in my JK and overland. Love them both and get to see the difference between standard and auto. Kinda wish I had gone auto in JK but once I'm off road I'm thankful to have standard.

I have both, both auto, I wouldn't sat one is better than the other. I know the 3.8l will be decently reliable, the 3.6l only time will tell, the 42RLE on the other hand is a better tranny according to my tranny builder friend and cheaper when the time comes.
