Default buying 2nd jeep for dd 78000 miles concern?

I am looking at replacing my wifes nitro with a jku with 78000 miles. How long do you think the engine would last with routine maint.
Should i go ahead and buy or should i skip it for less miles but bigger pricetag. This jeep comes with brand new 35's.

p.s. if i do this i get my jku back

I bought my 2008 JKU with 78,000 miles on it. i absolutely love it. The only issue that I have had in the year that I have owned it is with the front right brake caliper. I just replaced it today because when I replaced my brake pads I noticed that it wouldn't release. Overall, I think it would be safe to purchase, but who knows what the previous driver has put it through or what maintenance they have done. Take a look over it, or have a local mechanic look at it for you and go from there. If it looks good, and the price is right, then go for it.

It'll be fine. Just make sure to go through all the service records to make sure all the proper maintenance was done. There's quite a few guys on here with 150,000 + with little to no problems

Spending much time on this forum the most significant issue that appears frequently with higher mileage JKs is oil consumption. Other than that like the last comment you should be good to go for 150,000 (+). I would just be sure to give it a good once over before purchase

I have 125k on mine runs like a champ it still sounds and drives like it did when it rolled off the lot. One of my buddys has 200k on his running 35s almost from new and wheels alot. Miles are just a number as long as u take care of it lol

My main concern would be oil consumption. Try and find maintenance records, if not at least pull the dipstick and see where it is. Also, listen for excessive valvetrain noise or ticking when the engine is running, and pinging when under load or accelerating. If you do buy it, I would change all the fluids regardless if they say they have been changed or not

A guy down the street from me has over 400,000 on his TJ. It's on the original motor and second transmission and clutch .
