There are rumors that jeep has said they might release a diesel wrangler depending on how sales go with the new diesel Grand Cherokee. Honestly. They should have done it the other way. Wrangler first!

Are they using the 2.8 European version or will it be the same one that came in the libertys a while back

More than likely they will be using the 3.0 liter diesel that is set for the Grand Cherokee. Reports are that it makes 420 ft/lbs of torque. And 30 mpg highway in the GC

Apparently its an engine fiat has been using in Europe. I believe it will be the same engine going in the new ram 1500

If you go look at the 2014 Grand Cherokee they released it has all of the motor stats.

Only issue is they have to wait and see how the diesel GC sells

I would be amazed to see the GC diesel do "well enough".
