Makes good sense. They are adding this diesel engine to the 2014 Cherokee and Dodge Ram:

"An optional three liter V6 diesel that delivers 240 horses and 420 Pounds feet of torque. It's mated to a new eight speed automatic..."

It will take at least another year to see it in the JK. (imho)

Haha... I recall many TJ owners saying the same thing about the JK. I have to admit I'm pretty worried though. That Cherokee is fugly. It's a shame too. I loved the look of a built Cherokee. I was dead set on a 99 Cherokee Sport until I decided to accept having a car payment again and went with my JK.

I'm kind of upset because I bought my 2013 Rubicon last November. I should have waited

I just got my 2013 as well. Even if the diesel option is true I don't think I would get the forts one off the production line. I will wait a yr or so and let them work the bugs out like they did with the 2007 and again with the 2012

The JK is selling so well it doesn't need tweaking . The much-anticipated Diesel would allow it to meet MPG mandates and keep its current look , I hope. The diesel offered in the Grand Cherokee requires a " urea" tank, and particulate scrubbers. The $ 2400 option of diesel is reasonable if accurate. The mpg and torque figures are just what the Trail Rated buyers want and need. Meanwhile, enjoy what you have, the future carries no guarentees.
