Ever see this warning light?
So this is something I've wondered about for a long time. Does anyone know what this warning light means? It comes on from time to time, and I never notice anything unusual while driving. Then the next time, it won't come on.

Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) Warning Light
It means there is a problem with the ETC system.
Turn the ignition off, then restart the engine. Most times it will remain out. If it comes back on, the problem still exists.

Is it really a "problem?" How would you "fix" that?

- Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) Indicator Light
-This light informs you of a problem with the system.
-If a problem is detected, the light will come on while the engine is running. Cycle the ignition when the vehicle has completely stopped and the shift lever is placed in the PARK position; the light should turn off.
-If the light remains lit with the engine running, your vehicle will usually be drivable; however, see an authorized dealer immediately. If the light is flashing when the engine is running, immediate service is required and you may experience reduced performance, an elevated/rough idle or engine stall and your vehicle may require towing.

The first thing I would do is get a code reader, or take it to an auto parts store that will read for free, and see what it shows.
Not much to fix until you know why the computer turned on the light.

I had that light flash in conjunction with esp/abs which revealed a SAS code.
But- the responses above are correct- throttle control.

All I have is the ETC warning light.. I don't notice any loss of power (as some members have said), nor does my check engine light come on.. I'm just trying to find a fix because it's been this way as long as I can remember.
