Hey everyone. I'm back on the forum after a looong break. Sold my last jku a few years ago and am finally about to order one for the first time. I've never factory ordered one so was wondering from those of you who have: how much negotiating room did you have when ordering? I know they would rather see you buy one off the lot than wait 8 weeks. I'm building one with very few options. Here is a shot of my build sheet and I'm going to put my deposit down in a few days. Any help on the deal would be great! Can't wait to get back in a Jeep!

I think that's going to depend on where you're at in the country. We ordered my wife's 2016 (in Marshfield, MO) and it was up to $1000 cheaper than any other dealers in the area (for example in St. Louis, MO).

Not sure if you are wanting them or not, but that we went with ordering so that she could get half doors (which, if I remember right was no additional charge when ordered). She also went with no options, not even AC. (she grew up in Tucson so she says the Missouri heat isn't really heat) . The dealer we went through had no issues with us ordering through them. But, like I said, YMMV.

Good luck!

Default Add XM Radio with CD

I would get a XM radio with CD. Unless you want the headache of Replacing your head unit later. Also if you Plan on getting Lockers I would pass on the LSD . The wheel sensors with BLD basically act like a quasi LSD. Good Job on the 3.73's I wish they had a option for 410's for non Rubicon's and non Special Edition Jeeps.

I'm glad I got the XM radio works great on long trips plus its only $15 a month and sometimes you can get a special for a lower price. Plus you get the first year included with the headunit upgrade!!

I'll agree with Jonathan_JK on the axle stuff.

I'll disagree with him on the radio stuff. I had XM and the Nav system. The customer service from Sirius is TERRIBLE. To the point I stopped purchasing from them. I also got rid of the Nav radio as the maps cost to update. I installed this in mine and am very happy. I use my phone for navigation and the stereo I have plays my songs on my iPhone via bluetooth (also does phone calls). Total invested is $250. Sold the Nav radio (on eBay) for $510.

Just my 22¢ but I'd go with the 130 radio with Uconnect and SirusXM and the Alpine speakers are worth it. It wasn't a selling point when I was buying my Willy's but I am so happy that I have it. I would also go with stand alone GPS unit as when I'm on the trails I don't have cell signal so no maps.

Thanks for the info so far guys. I'll take a pass on the LSD then. I use my phone and unlimited data plan for all entertainment so I think I'll stick with the base radio. I've had the other radios in my previous 07 and 13 year jeeps and ended up replacing them anyway. I'm trying to keep the cost as low as possible for mods. I'm near Buford, GA not too far from Atlanta so plenty of dealerships around. I've bought a few times from this one so I'll try to work with them if I can. My goal would be 27,000 out the door. I may look into the tread lightly program if thats still around.

Default 130 Radio

I have the 130 Head Unit and besides the (OEM crap speakers in the Sound bar <----Replaced) It has plenty of power and loudness for me to drive 65MPH with the top and doors off to still enjoy my music.

Also I did not see A/C on the list!!! Unless you want to Die in the summer just add the A/C. Even with the top down and doors off I blast the A/C in my face at stoplights to cool me down during those 90+ Carolina days.

I ordered my 2012. I have no need for the anti spin differential. The standard brake lock differential that we all have does a great job mimicking the anti spin differential. I've taken mine off road and have ridden in plenty of snow. I have no regrets with not ordering the anti spin. Do a search on BLD. You make come to the same conclusion I did.

What on earth did you need customer service from Sirius for? Just curious.

That color is awesome. It will be worth the wait.

i ordered my rubi new in 2012 for right at 30k. i probably would of bought one on a lot but apparently no where in the state of missouri did they have a manual version.
I got the hard top with tinted windows and the 430 radio. other then that i left everything else off. Dont really care for a bunch of electric things to have to fix later on as i plan to keep my jeep till the wheels fall off then buy new ones and keep driving it : )
