I'm mostly aghast when it comes to hearing about others' realiability issues. I don't have a great picture of my own Jeep's reliability yet, but for more than 2 years and 20k not-so-easy miles, it's never left me stranded. That was the expectation when I bought it new; and so far it hasn't given me reason to believe it's unreliable.

I can't be a Jeep apologist on some of the other fit/finish issues, you'll see some of my posts bitching about them on here. But, they've been relatively minor.

Not to excuse anyone's issues, but it helps to put them in perspective. For example, I only paid $24k for my Jeep, so I don't have the same expectations that some of you who paid $40k-$50k for your Jeeps do. I'd be pissed too!

And, once again, everything according to purpose. The problem with most consumer reviews is that off-roadability has no value. It can be a side benefit, but it has no real value in most consumer reviews.

Cut and paste from last years article bla bla bla.

You don't take a Jeep to the track just like you don't take a Mustang on Jeep Jamboree.

Some are happy your basic car aka vanilla.

Yes my 08 irises rough has wind noise and has a bit of a drinking problem.

My choice...and when I see my Jeep and climb up on in behind the wheel I smile, and know this is not just transportation, it's a extension of who and what I am and like to do. Our 08 is a part of the family and the jeep community is a lifestyle.

Can't say any of these comments about any other vehicle I've ever owned....even the quite smooth, comfy low MPG ones

Smiles per gallon ya all and Jeep on!

Forbes is mindlessly regurgitating what Consumers Report says. They "endlessly ejaculate" over the Hondas (got Airbags)? and Subarus ( got head gaskets ? Excessive oil consumption Class Action Lawsuit )?
These are the people who think off road is the local Country Club golf course, and that a Prius is the ultimate Green vehicle. In the Hive Mentality, they are "Drones ".

edit: let me just add that I disagree with this article. i love my jeep.
The most common criticisms of the Wrangler i read from typical reviews are how it doesn't have features X and Y but to see, Jeep has X and Y in a different vehicle of theirs. No one criticizes the SLR McLaren for not having room for baby seats like a GL class or the BMW X5 for not cornering like a M3... shows how much these reviewers are switched on.

The "Reviewers", to put it bluntly, have their heads up their collective asses. Not one of them is capable of an original thought or opinion. This has been demonstrated through the years, same old slavish devotion to certain brands, regardless of real-world experiences with that brand. What Forbes does prove, is that media can blow smoke, and the masses will nod sagely, and agree. Did I say "Drones", as in the Hive Kind ?
