My distance till empty used to be around 400 or so km with a full tank and now is saying 300km! What could cause such a drastic change? Could a dirty air filter cause this much loss in mpg?

How many miles on your Jeep. The Jeep computer "learns" your driving habits. And makes adjustments accordingly. Or it could be just a change in fuel.

Try disconnecting your battery for a bit... I had a strange reading before I installed my auxiliaries that has since corrected itself... 100km drop would be insane...
