Suggest that you check the area around the front of the engine with the hood open. There are several rotating assemblies there that are tied to engine speed and can cause this type of noise, including an idler pulley, water pump, air conditioning compressor, power steering pump, etc. A mechanic's stethoscope may prove helpful in isolating the noise ...
